What We’re Drinking – Cameron Hughes “Lot 609” Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

The color is slightly bricked and clear around the edges. Black currant, black cherries and red licorice show on the nose. On the palate, fresh and dried black fruit, blackberry, black currant, and prune, lead, followed by brighter red fruit. Dark chocolate, espresso, and finally, black pepper, all make appearances on an ever-evolving palate of marvelous complexity. This wine bats far out of its price league, so splurge with the money you save and drink it with a great steak. High Recommended. 94 points. DBH
