What We’re Drinking – Zuccardi “Q” Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

Dark and rich in color, utterly opaque in the center and only hinting at purple and garnet around the edges. On the nose, nutmeg, pencil lead, black currant, and unsweetened chocolate merge. Loads of black fruit shine through on the palate, with blackberry on top and sweet blueberry and mulberry underneath. Allspice, lead, dark chocolate, and hints of tobacco leaf come in behind the fruit on the mid-palate. This is a well-balanced mouthful, with acids keeping the big fruit light. Drink with a spicy brisket. Highly Recommended. 91 points. DBH
