What We’re Drinking – LaMarca Prosecco

Don’t be fooled by the low price and the readily available small bottles – this is a perfectly lovely little sparkler that will work for mimosas or a celebratory toast, but at this price it’s best use is an every day sparkling wine to pair with everything from popcorn and a movie to fried oysters. The color is pale straw, bubbles are medium-sized and persistent. The nose gives off-dry aromas of stone fruit, hazelnut, and hints of birch. Poached pear, fresh peach, white florals, and hints of cut grass blend on the palate, with lingering hints of key lime. Recommended. 87 points. DBH
