What We’re Drinking – Susana Balbo “Crios” Cabernet Sauvignon

Red and black fruit mingle with earth and humus on the nose. The palate, too, blends red and black fruit, blackberry and raspberry, with deep earthiness and cranberry high notes. Hints of tobacco show the presence of a small amount of Cabernet Franc. Tannins are soft and light, acids pronounced. This is a lighter, brighter version of Cabernet Sauvignon, perfectly suited to beef-based stews and pot roasts. Drink with Carbonada Criolla. Recommended. 89 points. DBH
