Hardy Noces d’Albâtre

99The color is gorgeous, a rich dark golden hue. The nose is even prettier. Aromas of vanilla cream and honeyed almond are joined by hints of distant magnolia blossoms. On the palate honeyed tropical fruits, mango and sweet tangerine, lead, through brilliant crescendo, to beautiful florals, from fresh honeysuckle to candied orange blossom.  This cognac is known by several names. The true designation is “Noces d’Albâtre,” or Alabaster Anniversary, but it is better known as “Rosebud,” or “Rosebud Family Reserve,” for its magnificent Daum crystal decanter. This remarkable Cognac is blended from small lots collected by Armand Hardy right after World War I, and aged in oak for 75 years. Perfectly smooth, silk in a glass, the finish lingers seemingly forever. Very Highly Recommended. 99 points.
