The Ben Ryé name might mean “son of the wind” in Arabic, but given the difficulty of farming the grapes, Donnafugata might have been forgiven for naming it “son of a bitch!”
Cherries, cloves, black licorice, and chocolate all dance around a lively spine with grippy tannins. Drink with braciole. Highly Recommended. 92 points.
Try it as an aperitif wine, with vegetarian as well as meat meals, and even with subtle lemon cookies for dessert. Great for casual meals. Highly Recommended (90).
