Palate Press Wine of the Week: 2005 Flora Springs Trilogy

Blackcurrant leads on the nose, with background aromas of red currant and ground limestone. On the palate, the lead is a blend of black and red fruits, cedar, a tiny background touch of vanilla, and spices, including cracked pepper and rosemary. Tannins are dusty, drying, and sweet. This is very well balanced, full-bodied tannins matching bright acids. It is also a wine that lets the fruit sing the lead, with the wood singing a very light doo-wop in the background. At the age of six this is still a baby. It will last well into its teens. Drink with local lamb. Highly Recommended.
