NV Lucien Albrecht Crémant d’Alsace Brut Rosé

This bottle is lavishly decorated with gold and red, evoking fin-de-siècle luxury. The wine itself is a medium golden orange-pink. At first I couldn’t even budge the cork – how embarrassing. But with a few minutes at room temperature the cork came out beautifully, with barely a sigh. A tiny whiff of toasty yeast wafted out. In the glass, there’s a very light aroma of plum, berries and apples. Light fruit on the palate, with acidity and a tinge of plum in the finish, too. The mousse is not fine, but moderate. Recommended.
