Alexander Valley Vineyards “Alexander School Reserve” Cabernet Sauvignon

This wine was aged for two years in forty percent new French oak. The nose shows blackcurrant and menthol. On the palate, this shows more red berries, particularly on the mid-palate. It opens with boysenberry and black cherry, then moves to tart red fruit, raspberry and tart hints of cranberry on the mid-palate. Vanilla shows on the mid-palate.  Tannins are dusty, acids bright. The high-toned red berries on the mid-palate offer great diversity to this wine, allowing it to pair with a broad range of foods. Pair with wildfowl. Highly Recommended (92-94). DH
