Lot 59 – Two Napa Jewels

Lamborn Family Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon

“The 2006 Vintage is dark garnet in color with aromas of black cherry, cedar, cola, and blackberries.  A big wine on the palate, yet has a soft mouth-feel from start to finish.  Tannins are barley perceptible, giving just a lightly dusty, textural impression that coats the mouth and enhances the overall ripe fruit flavors.  This is a lovely vintage that is more accessible early in its life.  A tasty wine – like drinking velvety black cherries!” – Winemaker Heidi Barrett’s tasting notes.

Rubicon Estate Rubucon 2004

“Rubicon is a selection of the more concentrated fruit from the estate, dark in tone with what McLeod describes as a violet character. The ’04, from a hot vintage and a relatively early harvest, is marked by the baritone depths small berries and low yields can give. The wine feels compressed, its power magnificent. In addition to whatever trademark combination of flavor and structure places it clearly as Rubicon, it also has that distinctive Rutherford dust character , like pollen dusting a black cherry. One of the true greats from Napa Valley. “ – 96 points, Wine & Spirits

Opening bid is $140.00. Minimum bid increment $10.00.
