Looking Back, and Looking Forward

Welcome back to PALATE PRESS: The online wine magazine.  We have had an amazing 10 days since our launch.  I thought we would launch quietly, then grow organically on the web as people heard about us.  Instead, we exploded on the internet, with stories in Wines and Vines, Wine Biz Radio, New Jersey Monthly, and even a couple of sites I can’t read, including Fermenti Digitali and Это НЕ должен знать каждый.

New readers are subscribing every day. Just sign up and you will know whenever we post a new story. It was not just readers, either. New advertisers started reaching out within hours of launch. With that in mind, we are offering advertising discounts for our Twitter followers.  Just DM us on Twitter for details.

This is going to be an amazing week:.

On Monday, in our Featured Story, renowned wine writer Dan Berger explores whther blending in wine is the new black, or just the new “blah-blah-blah.”

Linda Castrone looks at the effect of the economy on wine country touring in the heart of Napa/Sonoma Wine Country on Tuesday in The Wine Life.

Wednesday’s Spotlight aims across the ocean as Howard Hewitt takes a wine store trip and discovers Portugal’s Table Wines Emerge as Value Buys.

Save some room for dinner on Thursday, because Joe Power has a delicious article and recipe in + Food for a versatile, wine-friendly Seafood Medley Stew.

We also have a fun Hot Potato piece that day, as Dr. XeNo takes both Riedel and Eisch to a local wine bar for a smackdown-style taste test.

On Friday, Joe Roberts, aka 1WineDude, dons his hazmat suit and dives into the sausage-making venture of Pennsylvania wine law, calling the recent wine-vending kiosk proposal the worst idea to happen to wine ever.
