2008 Dragon’s Bluff Pinot Noir, Volcanic Rock Select

Another lovely Pinot from the folks at White Rose Wines in Oregon in their diverse Dragon’s Bluff line. It is almost Burgundian, rather like a light Pommard. Nose of earth, cedar, and lingonberry. Opens up on the palate with vibrant flavors of dark cherry. Finishes a tad short, but still a superior Pinot Noir—far, far better than a lot of the insipid wines touted as “good Pinot.” Great with lamb. Most of White Rose’s wines are only available direct from the winery, but this one may already be gone.
