2005 SOMA Limited Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

When you first pull the cork out of the 2005 SOMA from Marita’s Vineyard, the aroma of blackberry preserves fills the room. Dark garnet-colored wine in the glass with a nose of big dark fruit. Very jammy on the palate, with balanced tannins and flavors of chocolate, leather and cedar. Not a touch of green pepper flavors to be found. Once it opens up, you’ll notice more cedar and spice. This one is delicate enough to drink alone (even at ABV of 14%), but pairs well with beef tenderloin or filet mignon. For an extended review visit Another Wine Blog.
